Description
Angelica archangelica (L.), commonly known as Angelica, is a perennial herbaceous plant that belongs to the Apiaceae family. It is characterized by its height, which can reach up to 2 meters, and its hollow and grooved stems. Its leaves are large, compound and bright green, with serrated edges. The flowers of angelica are small, white or greenish, arranged in umbels. This plant is known for its distinctive aroma and flavor, which resembles that of licorice and fennel. It is used in cooking and in the manufacture of liquors, and has also been traditionally used in herbal medicine for digestive and aromatic purposes.
